Gucci is turning our youth-obsessed culture on its head with its latest advertising campaign. The timeless fashion house chose esteemed, veteran British actress Vanessa Redgrave, 79, as one of the faces of its new Gucci Cruise 2017 collection, an animated line that was inspired by "the English penchant for decoration," according toWomen's Wear Daily.
The campaign was shot at the Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, by British-born photographer Glen Luchford. In one ethereal shot teased on Gucci's Instagram, the graceful Redgrave - who's won awards ranging from a Tony to an Oscar for her roles in theater and on the silver screen - stands in a garden on the Chatsworth grounds wearing a floral-printed ruffled silk top with Web stripe trim and pleated skirt. A matching handbag is perched on the handle of a shovel in front of her. She dons a straw sunhat and holds freshly picked lavender in her hand.
