Back in the 1960's Charlie Chaplin and his
wife Oona came to Waterville, and immediately fell in love with the place.
Chaplin was spellbound by its extraordinary beauty and from then on continued
to holiday there along with his entire family for many years. Indeed Waterville
is still a bolt hold for some of his children and grandchildren.
This, our 6th Annual Comedy Film Festival
August 25th - 28th August is a showcase for Chaplin's
enormous corpus of work in the film industry. Chaplin Classics will be screened
throughout the Festival.
This year on the Sunday 28th
August we will again be attempting a Guinness World Record for the most people
dressed as Charlie Chaplin, it will be an amazing sight as hundreds of Charlie
Chaplins gather in Fossetts Big Top, We have to make the elusive record this

The pivotal event is of course the
competition for film makers - The closing date for entries is 1st
June 2016.
The 4 day event is packed with Workshops,
Circus performances, Film competition screenings and pop up improvised Comedy.
Other highlights include Stand-up comedian Deirdre O' Kane, guest speakers Dr Harvey O' Brien, Patrick Bergin, Carl Davis, Cass Sunstein and Rory Fellowes. World renowned Chaplin Street Entertainers, Diego and Charlie 2nd, Concerts by Frankie Gavin and De Dannan and Bagatelle. Last but not least Fossets Ireland's National Circus is returning to Mick O' Dwyer Park (Pairc Micheal ui Dhuibhir) to host our events in the iconic Big Top
