Donovan Montierth and his twin brother Adam share a passion for writing, producing and directing films. Their first short, A.W.O.L. (2003), was followed by REVEILLE a year later.
REVEILLE starred David Huddleston and James McEachin as Navy and Army veterans who, to use IMDb's description, "compete in a game of one-upmanship over a flagpole in a retirement community."
After five more shorts, Brothers' Ink Productions released the Rod Serling-esque anthology LOCKER 13 and have since announced five feature films, including a full-length remake.
CAPTURE THE FLAG is based on their Emmy-winning short REVEILLE and stars attached to the project include Dick Van Dyke, Barry Corbin, Louis Gossett Jr., John Amos, Rance Howard and Paul Dooley. Van Dyke is said to be ecstatic about his role.
While shooting an improv pilot for TV, the Montierth's interviewed Van Dyke and shared REVEILLE with his son. "Barry Van Dyke said, 'Dad you gotta watch this' and Dick loved it," recalled Donovan.
"He read the script within two hours, called Barry and said, 'I gotta do this! You've gotta convince them to let me do this - this is one of the best scripts I've read in 10 years.' And we're like...wait a minute, Dick Van Dyke is trying to convince us? He's a legend!"
