The film will be playing in select cinemas nationwide for a special two-day-only event on Sunday, January 15 and Wednesday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time. (check theater listings here; please note that there might be slightly different theater listings for each date)

About the film: Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor star in one of the greatest musicals ever filmed. Musician Don Lockwood (Kelly) rises to stardom during Hollywood’s silent-movie era–paired with the beautiful, jealous and dumb Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen). When Lockwood becomes attracted to young studio singer Kathy Selden (Reynolds), Lamont has her fired. But with the introduction of talking pictures, audiences laugh when they hear Lockwood speak for the first time–and the studio uses Selden to dub her voice.

I would love to see this magical movie on the big screen, so I can feel a little bit of what audiences felt in 1952! This film holds a special place in my heart, as it was one of the first classic films I ever saw, and it opened the doorway to so many wonderful films, and a passion that will hopefully lead to a career as a film historian! This was such a monumental film, & it set the standards for performers today, & it’s influence can be seen everwhere! I can’t wait to see it in theatres!

Singing in the Rain is a classic movie I have not seen in many years, and never was fortunate enough to see on the big screen. I love movies in theaters and would enjoy seeing this one as it was intended. Movies are an experience and this one would be a memorable one for me.

My husband and I have always wanted to see some of the classics like this one. Would love to have the big screen experience to pretend it’s “back in the day” for a cool date night!
It’s been one of my son’s favorites since he was little and I’d love for him to experience it on the big screen. And I want to see Gene Kelly up close as possible myself!
Is there *honestly any other way* to *fully experience* the timeless magic of such an iconic film? I think not.

Singing in the Rain is one of my all-time favorite movie musicals. I love reciting bits of dialogue, and besides Kelly, Reynolds and O’Connor being fabulous, Jean Hagen’s feather-brained Lina Lamont was hilarious!

Musicals are my all time favorites and I had been waiting forever for Singin’ in the Rain to air on TCM so I could finally watch it, so when it never did I just went out and bought it and now it’s my absolute favorite movie!!

The film is brilliant time every level. Watching it on the big screen allows me to appreciate things like the set decoration in the windows as Gene Kelly dances down the street. Every aspect of this movie represents the height of studio filmmaking!
It’s absolutely one of my favorite musicals. And probably the one that really got me started on other classic musicals. Especially Gene Kelly’s.
I would love to win these tickets as this movie has meant so much to me throughout my life and I would love to have the opportunity to see it on the big screen like I always dreamed.

This movie has a very fond place in my heart and it brings me joy to watch it. When my grown children were young they would watch this movie over and over again. 4-6 times in one day. I’d very much enjoy the opportunity to sit in a theater full of people who love the movie or if they’re seeing it for the first, soon to love the movie.
Singing In The Rain is one of my all-time favorite musicals. Absolutely love any movie that Debbie Reynolds or Gene Kelly are in, who are among some of my favorite entertainers. Plus, I have never seen the movie on the big screen and would love to experience that.
I was sick a lot during my grade school years & we owned Singing in The Rain on VHS. I ended up memorizing the whole movie and would act out scenes with my mom. . My husband has never seen it and I’d love to share that experience with him as well as relive some nostalgia.
My family just finished watching the delightful film “Mother” in tribute to Debbie Reynolds. Since the movie was small in scale, Debbie’s wonderful performance was not diminished by being viewed on a television screen. “Singing in the Rain,” on the other hand, is as grand as they come and needs to be seen on a cinema screen.
As someone who loves when Fathom Events and TCM bring classic movies to the theater, I was excited to hear that “Singing in the Rain” is only a few weeks away. Even better, my mother (who is from Debbie’s generation) expressed enthusiasm in joining me at the theater to view this legend we love perform her most iconic role.
We will definitely see the movie either way, but free tickets would be nice!

TCM has always been a staple in my parent’s household, and to be able to see Singing in the Rain, which has had such an impact on our culture/society/myself personally, on the big screen would be breathtaking.

I would like to see Singin’ in the Rain on the Big Screen because I remember watching it when I was a little girl with my Paw Paw (he loved musicals). Additionally, it would be really nice to see Debbie Reynolds on the big screen, especially in light of recent events.
My whole family are fans of musicals. My husband and I were married the day after Gene Kelly passed and we watched Singin’ in the Rain in our new home on a little TV after our wedding reception. His movie always reminds me of my daddy. I grew up watching this with him all the time.
When I was little, we would go singing and dancing in the rain whenever it rained. We would hold hands, jump in the puddles and start singing “I’m Singing in the rain”. Best childhood memory ever. He has been gone for 10 years now. However whenever I see this movie a smile crosses my face, tears stream down my cheeks. These are happy memories.

As we see with the accolades given La La Land, musicals are an important and uniquely American style of cinema. When they are at their best, musicals are fun and uplifting. While there have been many examples of this over the years, none have come close to Singin in the Rain. To this day, it remains the gold standard for musicals, and perhaps for all of cinema.
Nostalgia
This was my favorite movie when I was younger and I would love to take my daughter to see this fabulous movie. As we both danced most of our lives my daughter would really appreciate and relate to this movie.
Singin’ in the Rain is a movie my mom and I both shared a love for, she is the reason I watch and love musicals. She passed away at the end of November, and I know if she were still here, she and I would be going to see this. In honor of her, I would like to experience it on the big screen with my sister.

It is the greatest musical I have ever seen, but I have only seen it on the small screen. The big screen, in a darkened room with a real audience takes any movie and adds magic. “Singing in the Rain” on the big screen will be the experience of a lifetime.

I love that the performers knew how to sing and dance. You can watch the dance numbers and only see a few cuts. The performance isn’t spliced together in the editing room. I try and see the classics on the big screen if the opportunity presents itself. I’m looking forward to this one.

My 27 year old daughter fell in love with Gene Kelly on the big screen – she wanted to marry him when she was 13 years old. This is her favorite movie of all time. Once, by coincidence, when we were in Arizona, we happened to be there at the same time as Donald O’Connor’s estate sale. It was a little strange to have a 17 and 15 year old so excited to be in his home and sit on his veranda. My daughter now lives in Floridan and I live in Michigan. By fate, I will be in Florida for her birthday on the day that this Singing in the Rain will be showing on the big screen – we will be going for her birthday.

It is my favorite all time movie. It is the very best of what the old time Hollywood Studios had to offer; a great story with drama, comedy, music, dancing, love and a happy ending. The tops.
It’s one of my all-time favorite musicals…right up there with On the Town. I was introduced to them as a little kid back in the 1970’s, and are still quite fond of them today.

My best friend and I really love singing in the rain. Whenever it is on television we tell each other it is on. The cinematography and the music and dancing are unmatched in any other movie and unfortunately we are in our 20s and never got the opportunity to see it on the big screen- and we would love to.

Singin’ in the Rain has always been my favorite musical. It’s a movie I never get sick of, and can turn a bad day into a happy one. Debbie Reynolds has always been my favorite as well, and since her passing, I haven’t been able to watch anything with her in it without crying. But I would love to go see Singin’ in the Rain in theaters to remember and honor Debbie by. To be able to see such a classic film in theaters is as close as one can get to actually being there for the premiere back in its day. And to see one of your favorite movies in theaters is truly a gift!

“Singin’ in the Rain” is hands down the best musical of all time. I have always dreamed of seeing it on the big screen. I’m so excited to now be able to do it!
When I was a single mom, my daughter and I would watch this movie regularly. I would even wake her up with the Good Morning song. This movie played such an important role during a rough time. I would love the opportunity to take her to see it on the big screen, and share some time with my (now) teenager.

I first saw this movie with my grandmom and continued to watch it when it came on as tribute. When I met my wife “old” movies was something we had in common. To this day we don’t go a month without watching this and many other movies, i.e Bells of St Mary, Brigadoon etc. It would be so awesome to be able to head out and have a date night with her to reminisce. At any rate, thanks for bringing these classics to the big screen. My wife and I always say that we both grew up in the wrong era.

The first time I saw it was in my 9th grade English class. Since I am Deaf I had an interpreter interpreting the movie. I was mesmerized by the plot and the color. Many years later I was able to buy the movie in Blu-ray and loved it with the subtitles!. Would be amazing too see it on the big screen. I know it won’t be captioned but I know the story by heart.

Best musical of all time! I would love to take my 14 year old niece who is in love with musical theater and wants to study it in college! What a better way to see it than on the big screen as it was intended!! We live 2 hrs from the nearest theater showing it, but will make a special trip!!

We had the pleasure of seeing It’s a Wonderful Life at the Chinese Theater in LA a few years ago and it was such a thrill for us and our kids! We’ve only ever seen this on TV and there is so much to be said for seeing a movie the way they are originally intended to be viewed, on the big screen!

I have watched Singing in the Rain about 10 times on tv or DVD, even once as a live production. However I have never been privileged to see it on the big screen. I love Debbie Reynolds’ beauty and perfect voice, Gene Kelly’s incredible dancing and dashing looks, and Donald O’Connor’s spectacular comic timing in this classic film.
To be entirely honest, I don’t know if I’ve seen the whole movie before, and would love to see it on the big screen for the first time! I’ve always wanted to watch it but never truly had the time.

I grew up watching movies such as this. I love TCM. I have a group of friends we call the “Thin Man Society” because we are such fans of the classics. And we have met once a month for the last 4 years for dinner and a classic movie. I attend every Fathom Event I can that is shown in our area.

This is my favorite. I saw it the first time with my high school crush. He learned the musical numbers, and on bad days would sing and dance for me. We would sing in the rain and splash in rain puddles. Then later, after i was married we would sing Moses supposes his toeses are roses.
My daughters laughed at Yes Yes Yes and No No No…while making head gestures of the opposite. Have said for mire than 40 years I wished I could have lived when this was on the Big Screen. PLEASE make my wish come true. These actors are my favorites.

Movies like Singin’ In The Rain were meant to be seen on the big screen. I love to be among other classic movie lovers, watching those glorious Old Hollywood movie stars the way they were meant to be watched – on the big screen! The whole experience is enhanced when the audience reacts together; lots of laughter, applauding when the dance scenes are done – it just makes it so much more fun. 🙂
I first saw Singin’ in the Rain when I was 16 years old and I was instantly hooked. It’s one of the movies that can make me smile every time. This movie makes me happy and I would love to see it on the big screen to experience it the way that moviegoers did back in the 1950s.

Singing in the Rain is not just one of my top five favorite movies of all time, but holds a special connection to my friendships. It is because of this movie that I became friends with one of my best friends. We bonded over our love of Gene Kelly and his strong and beautiful dance style. We randomly break out singing Moses Supposes while hanging out and frequently discuss the talent of Donald O’Connor during Make ’em Laugh. This movie is special to me and with my husband deployed, it would be a great treat for me on my birthday to see it on the big screen for the first time.

the reason that, I want to see Singing in the Rain are actually more than one.
First being that, I was raised watching the MGM Musicals with my late father. He loved thiss film and it was a special bond with him. secondly, when I took an Art of film class at Berkeley College several years ago. one of the films in the syllabus was Singing in the Rain. I watched it for a straight week. I dissected every scene along with the choreography of Gene Kelly. discovering that he had a 103 Fever doing thee dance scene in the rain. I watch it everytime it’s on TCM. when Debbie Reynolds died, I cried so much. I learned doing my paper that she was 19 years old. seeing it on the big screen would make my day .

Singin’ in the Rain is one of my favorite movies of all time. Not just because is is a classic and a perfect musical, but because of how it has helped to shape my life. I gained a best friend because of this movie. We bonded over our love of Gene Kelly and his strong dancing as well as the catchy tunes. We sing Moses Supposes from memory and still marvel at Donald O’Connor’s performance of Make ’em Laugh. Gene Kelly’s performance of Singin in the Rain gives me goosebumps every time I see it. I am a military spouse who’s husband and is deployed and this would be a wonderful birthday present for me, since he cannot be with me to celebrate.
I would love to win tickets to this movie because I am a big Gene Kelly fan and a even BIGGER Debbie Reynolds fan. I love this movie and it was before my time, so it would be amazing to see it on the big screen and pay tribute to an idol of mine!

Singin’ in the rain is my absolute favorite film. I have watched the movie many times since my nana introduced me to it to me when I was five. I’ve loved everything from the music and the incredible dance moves to the talents of the incredible actors on stage. Also, since my Nana introduced me to the film, it is a special memory thaat I have with her. I took her to see a special airing of the movie for her birthday and it was the best present I could have given her. She has passed on unfortunately, but the movie to this day helps me get through losing her.

Singin’ in the Rain has been my favorite movie since I was about 9 and my mom first introduced me to it. When we went to Disney for my forst time I was so excited when we visited Streets of America and I saw the umbrella…I did my own little rendition of the song and dance! I’m excited to carry on my love of Singin’ in the Rain and other classic movies with my daughter. My mom and I took her to her very first movie in the theater last year, at 3 years old, to see none other than Singin’ in the Rain! She loved it and asks all the time to go back. We took her recently to see another movie and she was a little bit disappointed at first when shr found out jt wasn’t Singin’ in the Rain thag we were seeing, but she got so excited when the Fathom events advert came on showing it!Of course I have to bring her back!
Because a movie this big, with talent this big deserves to be seen on the big screen. It’s also wonderful to be toghether with like minded people, this makes for a special evening out. Also, what better way to pay tribute to those we have lost….in the past and recently.

It starred 3 of my all-time favorite people, Gene Kelly, Donald O’Conner and Debbie Reynolds. To this day, at the age of 80, I still love that motion picture, and always will, for it has such wonderful memories for me that will last forever!

I had never seen the movie & thought that seeing it on the big screen was the perfect time to rectify that. But to make it even better I decided to create an event for it in nyc with a very chatty online group I belong to…Girls Love Travel (https://facebook.com/groups/200344506976547). Whenever we go on the Great Movie Ride at Disney, my 14 yo son always remembered the Singin’ in the Rain part. He has never watched the movie, so what better way to introduce him to it for the first time than by seeing it on the big screen- like its a brand new movie on opening day? Witnessing that level of excitement in a child’s eyes comes very seldom to a mother.

I want to see this film on the big screen because it is what makes me have a good morning every day thinking of the song. It has the lyrics to the lullaby I have sung to all my nephews and niece when they were babies, and it is the best example of golden Hollywood available and I love it.
I’d love to experience this on the big screen with my daughter. I want her to grow up & appreciate film, all variety and genres. I want her to love the classics as much the mainstream.

Want to see “Singin’ in the Rain” in the theater because that’s the way it should be seen.
We did the musical/stage version of Singin’ in the Rain when I was in high school. It was so much fun and became one of my favorites. When my daughters were little I’d sing “Good Mornin'” to them as I woke them for school.
I want to see this movie with my mom. We watched it together when I was a kid and it made such a musical impression on me. And it is one of her favorite movies!

I would like to win tickets to Singing in the Rain for my 85 year old father in law to go see it on the big screen, he loves old movies, and he loves musicals. He is so lively and still push mows his own yard, he goes out on dates every Saturday Night with his girlfriend and they would absolutely love to go see this.
I would like to see Singing In the Rain on the big screen because it reminds me of home. I did a tap dancing number to the song when I was in 6th grade. Also, my best friend has never seen it.

I was so lucky to see this film at TCMFF with Debbie Reynolds telling us all the inside scoop. Every classic film is a treat to see on the big screen. There is so much that we miss when it’s on a tv screen.

I want to see Singin’ in the Rain on the big screen to experience it the way it was meant to be seen! I absolutely love Debbie Reynolds and think this is a great experience to honor her magnificent talent in one of her many timeless performances!
Older movies like these remind me of watching them as a little girl with my grandmother. I’m also a performer now and seeing this on the big screen would be so exciting for me!
I’m a fan of classic movies, and this one is high on my list. I would like to see this movie on the big screen, because I think you get a truer sense of what the director intended. You see so much more detail and movement when it’s not compressed into a home-sized screen. Plus, I love the story line of Singin’ In The Rain.

My daughter and I absolutely LOVE this movie, but have only seen it on a rather small TV screen. We would be thrilled to see it on the big screen! We would also take my 9-month-old granddaughter because she enjoys musicals, too 🙂

This movie brings me back to the good old days of watching these classics with my parents. I always loved musicals and this love has been passed on to my 14 year old. I’d bring her with me.

Having only seen bits & pieces on TV – clip compilations and such – a seat in front of a big screen will ensure the attention this classic is due.
Singing in the Rain is such a pure movie that is beyond enjoyable at any age. I grew up watching this masterpiece with my grandmother, and would very much enjoy the opportunity to take my grandmother to see it on the “Big Screen.” From Gene Kelly, to Debbie Reynolds and to Donald O’Connor, all of these actors are inspiring from old films to new films today such as La La Land. With Debbie Renoylds passing, when would there be a better opportunity to see her back on the big screen than now?

Singin’ in the Rain is one of my all-time favorite movies. I DVR it whenever it comes on TCM and watch it at least once a month.

I will be visiting my daughter on the dates this is playing. I live in Florida and she lives in Pennsylvania. This is one of our favorite movies and she has never experienced it on the big screen. She also is a huge Debbie Reynolds fan and has really been affected by her passing. I would love to be able to win these tickets and share this experience with her!
