…..
About the Book: In The Life and Times of Mickey Rooney, authors Richard A. Lertzman and William J. Birnes present Mickey’s nearly century-long career within the context of America’s changing entertainment and social landscape. They chronicle his life story using little-known interviews with the star himself, his children, his former coauthor Roger Kahn, collaborator Arthur Marx, and costar Margaret O’Brien. This Old Hollywood biography presents Mickey Rooney from every angle, revealing the man Laurence Olivier once dubbed “the best there has ever been.”

I always enjoyed Mickey’s combination of wide-eyed innocence and wise-cracking smart aleck. As he got older I found that both of those were tempered by a kind of wisdom gained by having been everywhere and done everything. He was always a very interesting guy to watch and listen to. Thanks
I so agree, and particularly loved him as a wise aleck 🙂 Thanks for entering and Good Luck!
Mickey was a big personality that’s for sure! What I loved most was his way to make great entertainment!

He was a great talent in everything he done. Enjoyed him in Boy’s Town as well as other movies. He may have been little but he was mighty in all he done.

I loved meeting him at the grand opening of his yogurt store in Thousand Oaks. We worked at Komedy Radio where he was running his ads for the store. He came to the station to do his own voiceovers for the radio ads. He was in control of everything. He may have not been tall, but his personality was big! He was wonderful entertainer, actor, dancer, and businessman.
Wow, that is very cool… And doesn’t surprise me at all — he seemed like the consummate professional. Thanks so much for sharing, and for entering the contest…and Good Luck!
