I thought the Road movies were a lot of fun but the film I remember best is The Seven Little Foys. I think I liked it, even way back then, because it was based on the story of a real family. Thanks.

I tried to enter earlier today, and it would not accept my entry. I have many favorites. It is impossible to pick just one. I am partial to nearly all of his films. I own, or have owned, all but about half a dozen of them. I like the Seven Little Foys for the storyline and color. It shows his acting range. I’m also partial to Monsieur Beaucaire and Casanova’s Big Night. Fancy Pants may be my favorite. The butler impersonation fits him better than anything. I actually prefer him alongside Lucille Ball when compared to his chemistry with any other actress he ever appeared with. I like I Love Lucy, but I prefer her film roles, over most of the episodes. I also own the original Charles Laughton version, Ruggles of Red Gap. I own all 4 of the Hope/Ball collaborations.

The Road to…. movies. The comedy and the back and forth patter is awesome.

The Road series. I loved them. Back in the 50s the locations were so exotic, the banter so witty, the costumes so outrageous, and the “plots” so silly that we’d sit through them two or three times just to catch something we missed the first time around. Watching them later, as an adult, I see a lot of little things that went over my pre-teen head. I liked Road to Bali best.
