Will you ever be able to do an international giveaway? I’m from South America and I’d be thrilled to enter the contest!
Let me see what I can do… this may be a silly question, but — will an ‘American-made’ DVD (I think NSTC format???) play on a non-American-made DVD player???
Thank you for replying! Yes, I believe we have the same DVD format! I usually purchase from Amazon so it won’t be a problem.
Okay, let me figure out what I can do, but it probably won’t happen for a few months yet because my next three contests unfortunately are for US and Canada only (legal issues)… Not sure what I can do, but I’ll try to figure something out…
PS: I really appreciate your support — and your comments 🙂
There’s no problem at all! I know it’s hard to organise something like this but I needed to ask just in case, you don’t really need to make it happen. Anyway, I must thank you again! And tell you how much I adore your blog and the dedication you put into it. I’m so happy to see fellow classic movies lovers. So thank you, for the last time 🙂
a big thank you back 🙂
Without a doubt my favorite Cary Grant movie is Philadelphia Story. So much so, that I paid $30 to see it at the iPic theater for my birthday celebration last month
Oh, and I forgot to add that I love that movie because it has 3 of my all time favorite actors in it together (you can’t go wrong with Stewart, Hepburn and Grant), it’s such a great story and can still make me laugh.
Not changing my pick… its still North By Northwest. Its a classic, quintessential chase thriller.
“Charade”, as that was my introduction to Cary Grant!
My favorite Cary Grant film is His Girl Friday because the fast moving dialogue is amazing and I can watch it over and over and catch something new.
The Bishop’s Wife is my favorite, well one of my favorites.
The Bishop’s Wife is my favorite, well one of my favorites. I got to see the Cary Grant twinkle. Cary charmed everyone around him with his suave, sexy, “Everyman” appeal.
His Girl Friday. The rapid, funny dialogue and his behind the scene maneuvers to get Hildy to stay. Just a great movie all around.
The Awful Truth is my favorite, because it was so loosely scripted that it really gave him and Irene Dunne room to play off each other, resulting in rapid fire jokes that mostly work.
I would have to say my favorite Cary Grant movie is To Catch a Thief.
This *is* very hard, but my favorite is probably IN NAME ONLY. The great chemistry he has with the lovely Carole Lombard, the love triangle, and I believe it’s the film in which I first came to love him, oh so many years ago!
Arsenic and Old Lace, even though Cary Grant himself didn’t like his performance, it’s still one of the funniest films and still laugh every time I watch it. Plus it was directed by the great Frank Capra.
“Notorious”, because of his brilliant portrayal of a hard-hearted man that cannot keep his emotions in check.
To Catch A Thief. Cary Grant and Grace Kelly are on-screen royalty. Love the French landscape and architecture.
Impossible.
Hi Ashley, I’m not 100% sure, but I’m thinking you wanted to enter the Facebook version of the contest instead of the twitter version??? If so, let me know, and I will count your answer toward the Facebook one. If not, you would need to tweet the message that’s in the blog post to officially enter the twitter contest… I’ll be picking the winners later tonight, so please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks!
