James Stewart, probably because he reminds me of a combination of people. He always easy to watch. Bette Davis and Barbara Stanwyck, because they are so honest in their acting that you believe that they are, in part, playing themselves Tyrone Power and Cary Grant, because they both look like my Grandpa. I’m not kidding. My grandma was a big Tyrone Power fan as a child, and she ended up marrying a facsimile. Cary Grant in Father Goose is my Grandpa, although he never slapped anyone.
All great choices to say the least! As for my grandfather, he looked like Maurice Chevalier! 🙂
William Powell, Clark Gable and Cary Grant. All could play dashing and debonair but also have a flair for comedy.
Great choices! Love them all 🙂
Barbara Stanwyck and Bette Davis for being strong women who acted with an honesty that still resonates today. Myrna Loy for being “the only good girl in Hollywood” as well as Mrs Nick Charles. Robert Mitchum for his machismo that never came at the expense of his female co-stars. Cary Grant for being Cary Grant. William Powell for being a gentleman.
Clara Bow is my favorite because she worked extremely hard to achieve her dream, and was one of the most naturally talented silent film stars. Her talent and genuine charm is unmatched. I also love Bette Davis; she was strong, passionate, talented, and played a big part in fighting for women in film.
There’s so many but the ones I seem to watch the most are Errol Flynn, Cary Grant, Jack Lemmon, Robert Mitchum, William Powell and Paul Newman for actors, and actresses Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Olivia de Havilland, Joan Blondell and Elizabeth Taylor.
Gene Kelly is my absolute favorite but I also love Cary Grant, June Allyson, Charlie Chaplin, Bette Davis, and Ginger Rogers.
Barbara Stanwyck and Humphrey Bogart are my top two favorites of all time. Joel McCrea and Virginia Mayo are up there as are Bette Davis, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, William Holden, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck, Lauren Bacall, Sophia Loren, Olivia DeHavilland and Elizabeth Taylor. What can I say — I love them all. Now I want to watch a Bogie film. I borrowed In a Lonely Place so often from the local library that I finally bought myself a copy!
Barbara Stanwyck because of her absolutely unbelievable talent. Judy Garland because of her beauty and her one-of-a-kind voice that always has the power to move me. Vivien Leigh for her undeniable ability to throw herself completely into every character. John Wayne for his ability to portray the manliest men but also have a soft side. The list could go on and on forever!
I can not get enough Gene Kelly, since last summer I’ve been trying to watch so many of his movies. Then of course there’s Clark Gable.
Some of my favorite actors are Humphrey Bogart because he brings a certain class and demeanor. Another is Spencer Tracy because he brings an almost wise fatherly vibe with him.
John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, Cary Grant. Pretty anti pc and manly.
