Merry Christmas and a Very Happy Holiday Season to All!
Classic Movie and TV Christmas moments…
“And what happened, then? Well, in Whoville they say – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of ten Grinches, plus two!”
May our hearts grow three times bigger today 🙂
…..
“Oh, Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind…”
-Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street
Indeed.
…..
“Why can’t that spirit, that warm Christmas spirit, last all year long?”
-Gary Cooper as Long John Willoughby in Meet John Doe
Ditto.
…..
“Merry Christmas you wonderful old Building & Loan!”
-James Stewart as George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life
When we realize we’re more blessed than we thought 🙂
…..
“This little green one here seems to need a home.”
-Charlie Brown in A Charlie Brown Christmas
When our hearts are open.
…..
“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there…”
Mary Pickford gets ready for Santa…
Remember the anticipation!
…..
I remember staying up late on Christmas Eve as a kid watching Marx Brothers movie marathons and wondering why Santa Claus always came AFTER I fell asleep!
Thanks to my father who introduced me to the Marx Brothers when I was just knee high 🙂
Can’t go without thanking my Mom too, who introduced me to so many of the classics as well! Fond, fond memories…
…..
Ever wonder how Santa can deliver all those gifts in only one night 🙂
As a kid, it never even crossed my mind!
…..
Guess you’re never too cool for a Christmas Fashion Faux Pas 🙂
I had to post this one because while I was shopping this year, I saw someone carrying a ‘huge penguin with a tie’ sweater to the cash register and couldn’t help but think ‘I’m glad that’s not for me’!
…..
Getting in the gift-giving spirit…
Yes, even ‘march-to-the-beat-of-a different-drummer’ families like The Munsters celebrate Christmas.
…..
Remember as a kid, staying outside til’ your legs were so numb they felt like rubber 🙂
I still enjoy the clean crisp cold weather, but must admit, there’s nothing like walking into a cozy house and enjoying a hot cup of some deliciously warm libation…
…..
John Wayne and his kids on Christmas
Remember running down into the living room to see what Santa left you??? PS: yes, I am guilty as a kid for trying to peak through the wrapping paper before my family came down the stairs 🙂
Biggest surprises: a sleigh leaning behind our front door, that I didn’t see until after I had opened all of my other Christmas presents — and the camera I got as a kid after my parents kept telling me for months that I didn’t need a camera (oh sneaky sneaky parents)
Biggest well quite frankly ‘not-so-fun of a surprise’: the pink luggage that my grandparents gave me, when my other cousin (who incidentally is a boy) got legos! Ohhhh those coveted legos!!! But, not to worry, I wound up playing with his legos every time I came to visit — so I got the best of both worlds!

The Cleavers enjoying quality Christmas time together.
Always happy to enjoy quality family time on Christmas, although we play a ‘mean’ game of Italian cards after dinner 🙂

Hope you enjoy your day with Family and Friends!

–Annmarie Gatti for Classic Movie Hub
Merry Christmas, Annmarie. Thanks for all of the movie memories and for your generosity. I hope you have a great holiday and an amazing New Year.
Thanks so much Chris! And wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas, and Happy and Healthy New Year 🙂
Lovely rememberances all! Merry Christmas to TCM also!!! 🙂
Thanks so much for indulging me and taking the time to read it 🙂 Hope you’re having a wonderful Holiday Season 🙂
Great post Annmarie! Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it very much. And for reminding us, there’s more than one way, all to the same end.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read it… Hope your Holidays are Happy so far 🙂
I also never seemed to get Legos as a kid but played with my brothers (I did have my own bucket of basic bricks). This year my brothers gave me a lego set I’ve wanted since I was 12 🙂
LOL! Glad I wasn’t the only little girl pining away for a Lego set! I did have something called Toggle though, and spent hours upon hours building things with it. Glad you got your legos this year, haha 🙂
