Ray Collins was affable, avuncular-type who came to Hollywood in his early fifties as a member of the Orson Welles Company, Mercury Theater. He made his feature film debut in 1941's Citizen Kane and remained in the business for over 20 years as a character actor. He later became universally recognized as the dogged Lieutenant Traggon in the TV series Perry Mason. He died from an Emphysema attack in 1965 at the age of 75.
