MINI BIO:
Blonde, blue-eyed British actress Eleanor Summerfield had 'shopgirl' looks. After winning a Gold Medal at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she began her film career in straight roles, sometimes minor leads. It soon became evident, however, that her personality was more suited to bright and chatty comedy roles, and she was often 'the woman you couldn't get away from.' A vivacious real-life personality, she was popular for years on radio panel games, especially BBC Radio 4's "Many a Slip" (1964-1979). She was married to actor Leonard Sachs from 1947 to his death in 1990.
