He took his light Texan voice and boyish appeal into movies, becoming a prolific star of 80-minute Technicolor westerns in which, he said, 'the scripts were the same -- only the horses were changed.' He briefly appeared in 'A' films after the success of the film adapted from his WWII Memoir, To Hell and Back
